Date: 27/11/2010
Venue: SKC
Place: Nis, Serbia
What happened:
Lav beer is what Nico was drinking at the aftershow party. So it's fair to say Nico Was on the Lav but not in a bad way. The rest of us were drinking something unpronounceable with a red label on the bottle. I think it was Serbian beer,it's all a bit of a blur so it did the job of relaxing us after an outstanding gig.
We were the first international metal band to play in the city of Nis. When we arrived I had to go a tv station and record an interview for the six o'clock news the next day. Fans traveled from all over Serbia and some came from as far as Bulgaria for the gig. There were lots of people who saw me with Iron Maiden and some fans who saw my unplugged show three years ago.
The room we played had a good sound. Acoustic tiles on the ceiling and carpet on the stage and not too big. The sound check went great. We had time for a short rehearsal. At the last gig in Leeds I had a problem with robot so it was good to do that and iron out the wrinkles. Also it's such a fast song that you can easily hear any problems with hearing the drums. We had a go at clansman as well. Last time we played it was June. It felt really good. The gig went greatt ,the fans knew some of the promise and terror songs and silicon messiah album and sang along loads. It was a great night. We all a bit nervous because the last time we played was three weeks ago.
So a huge thank you to all the Serbian fans for supporting us and Jonny gun and his team for organising and promoting the event.
Cheers BB
